Care for Mohair Unlike wool, mohair does not shrink or felt. It is an easy fibre to care for. Brushing mohair with a stiff hairbrush is an easy way to revive and “dry” clean the fibres. As with wool washing should be done by hand in tepid water with a small amount of soap. It is best to just let the mohair soak, rather than agitate. Rinse in clean water. A second tepid soak with a fabric softener is recommended. Mohair should be hung and dried naturally; it dries much quicker than wool.
